Teifi Valley Country Show Weekend was launched in May 2006 by a group of knowledgeable Equestrians who saw the need for an event to showcase jumping in Rural West Wales. A necessity to provide a venue that could support an outdoor show with a comprehensive schedule that offered the professionals and amateurs alike, a weekend of quality show jumping for both horses and ponies with generous prizes and prize money. In rings that had been professional maintained and prepared in the months and weeks running up to the event.
Memories of 2006 will forever be remembered by events that were completely out of the control of any committee. With all the T's crossed and the I's dotted it started to rain and it continue to rain and it went on raining and raining......
However the general census of opinion was the show was a success and the weather could not spoil, a good show, dampen it, yes but the atmosphere remained good ,the jumping excellent and the rings stood up to all that the elements could throw at them.

Unfortunately the same could not be said for the car and lorry parks and as one senior course builder, who was not in a 4 wheel drive vehicle can testify it was not easy to get out....... rumour has it he contemplated abandoning his 'car' through the sun roof, help arrived, in the form of a very powerful 4 wheel drive tractor. Car and course builder were last seen heading East down a very muddy tarmac road.
2007 saw a change of date and the show weekend was to be in August. Improvements where made in the form of a new access road to the lorry park This year it was decided to provide stabling on site and with this in mind a purpose built toilet block was constructed adjacent to the stable area.
The purchase of a course of impressive jumps and the foresight to organise floral and other decorations made the main ring an impressive sight .This combined once again with the attention given to the maintenance and preparation of the ground prior to the show gave 1st class jumping . From the show case Open classes for Ladies and Gents,to The Area International Trial to the Novice Classes for horses and the full programme of pony classes the atmosphere was the envy of many.

even the elements where this year on the committees side the sun shone for the duration of the event ( all placings on results pg)
Evening entertainment was provided on site a licensed bar, pig roast, disco, karaoke and impromptu pole climbing races(no placings available )
The 2008 show is now being planned and will be held 25th-27th April. Schedules and all information are available on this web site.
The Teifi Valley Country show committee and team look forward to welcoming you at the next show.
